MacBook screen quotes confuse people because two customers with “broken screens” can pay wildly different amounts — and both prices can be fair. The difference is which fault you actually have.
“Broken screen” is four different repairs

This is why a phone-quote without seeing the machine is guesswork — and why shops that only do panel swaps quote everyone the most expensive option. A workshop with board-level capability can fix the cheaper faults as the cheaper faults.
What moves the price beyond the fault
- Your model. A 13″ MacBook Air panel and a 16″ MacBook Pro Liquid Retina XDR panel are very different parts. Apple Silicon and Intel generations differ too.
- Panel availability. Common models are stocked or quickly sourced; unusual configurations take longer and sometimes cost more in the Northeast.
- Hidden damage. A drop that cracked the screen may also have bent the lid or damaged the hinge antennas — checked before we quote, so the price doesn’t change later.
