How We Handle It

MacBook batteries are glued multi-cell packs, and on many models they sit directly under the trackpad and keyboard. A swelling pack presses the trackpad upward — if your trackpad has stopped clicking properly or the bottom case doesn’t sit flat, treat it as urgent: swollen lithium cells are a safety issue, and continued charging makes them worse.

Replacement involves safely removing the adhesive-mounted cells, fitting a quality battery, and then verifying that macOS reports condition and cycle count correctly and the machine charges normally.
