From the Touch Bar era onward, most Pros have storage soldered to the board. A dead board means unreachable data unless the board is revived — precisely the component-level work our bench does. Tell us if data is the priority.
Pros used for editing, development or long unplugged sessions chew through charge cycles quickly. Swollen batteries lifting the trackpad are common on 2016–2020 models; treat a non-clicking trackpad as an urgent battery check.
